New Delhi: For the past few days, rumour was being circulated by some media outlets that Indian Test captain Virat Kohli and leading Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma are going to get engaged this new year’s day. Virat and Anushka are currently holidaying in Uttarakhand and several other celebrities were headed there as well that led media to conclude that there must be an engagement. However, Virat Kohli has poured cold water on those rumours by denying it on Twitter.

After the denial by Virat Kohli, media organisations are requesting the couple to get engaged anyway as they have already run the news. This request has been made to restore some credibility of news organisations after several accusations that they only run made up stories.

“One day he is going to settle down na then why not now? The news is already there in every newspaper, there is no cricket tour going on, many celebrities are already in the area, just say yes. Think of our reputation instead of thinking about your own life selfishly. We have already sent a dozen reporters to Uttarakhand, as have several other news organisations. All those people can take care of every arrangement”, Chief Editor of a Noida based channel told Faking News.

Entertainment editor for a leading news channel also supported this plea while saying ,”We have already booked wedding experts for debating marriage rituals over the next 3 days. We have already prepared videos showing all the ex-boyfriends of Anushka, we have prepared such lovely wedding videos, we can’t let all that go to waste. News organisations need your support bhai, We don’t want you to go through with the wedding, just do engagement.”

Meanwhile, several recently married cricketers have prepared a rescue plan for Virat Kohli in case he succumbs to the pressure from news channels and agrees to marriage.
