Now Newshour panelists demand Z security to protect them from Arnab’s assaults

Voice of the nation, now with Y security

Mumbai: A day after Arnab Goswami, the editor-in-chief of news channel Times Now, was provided ‘Y’ category security cover by the government over a threat from Pakistan-based terrorist groups; regular panelists on the Newshour have requested the government to provide them with Z category security cover.

“He spends all his time scolding people, it is no surprise that someone got fed up and decided to launch an attack against him. It is good to hear though that the government has taken these threats seriously and provided him adequate security. However, what about us, the Newshour panelists? Every day we face Arnab’s assault and there is no security to protect us”, spokesperson of a leading political party said.

“Other subject matter experts have the choice to avoid Newshour but as political spokespersons, we can’t even do that. It is part of our job description that we have to go to Newshour and helplessly watch him attack us night after night. In the grand scheme of things, it is a small price to pay but some security would be really helpful”, he went on to add.

When we asked what kind of security they are looking for, the gentleman said,”See Arnab isn’t going to attack us physically so we don’t need guys with guns and all. We need highly specialized security team. People who can divert his attention when he focuses on me, someone to switch off his mic when he starts getting in his ‘zone’, someone to kidnap us during the program when the assault gets particularly brutal, they can come up with their own ideas but the main thing is, we must be protected from Arnab.”

Meanwhile, retired Army officers in Pakistan have appealed to the terrorists to leave Arnab alone. “If something happens to Arnab and Newshour shuts down, hamare to roti-paani ke laale pad jaane hai”, a retired Colonel said.
